For our 10th birthday, we sat down with the 99cers who’ve been with the agency since Day 1, to find out from them how the agency has changed over the past decade, their favourite memories of the early days, and if the coffee was always this good.

What is your first memory at 99c from Year 1?
When Andrew interviewed me sitting on a plastic chair with no desk and looking so chilled.
What are you most proud of during your time here?
When I received the Lifetime Achievement Award; also when I received an invitation to Mark During’s (former GM of Marketing at Shoprite) farewell party.
What is the reason you’re here 10 years later?
Nine reasons for being here 10 years later: family, achieving, loving what I am part of, priding myself on being part of a great service provider, improving, sharing skills, growing, feeling appreciated and working with some of the most amazing souls.
What is your favourite 99c quote?
Personal words I live by are that I need to always give my all as a receptionist, whether it is to someone I’m talking to on the phone or face to face, as this has the potential to change everything.
